earth4Earth's Associate GeoTechnical Engineer Yan Geng presented the company's life-cycle negative materials at the the 'Soils, Materials Recovery and Waste in Construction' workshop, held at the University of Greenwich.
Dr Geng joined experts in materials re-use to share how earth4Earth's negative-carbon and low carbon bricks are made with excavated soil, which would otherwise go to landfill.
The event featured case studies of waste and soils treatment and explored topics including construction and demolition waste management and developments in waste regulation.
The event was a Mini-WASCON meeting, held in conjunction with the 19th Soils in the South East Workshop (SSE19).
The mini meetings are part of the larger WASCON conference series, which explores using alternative materials in construction and the technical and environmental effects of this.
Thank you to The International Society for the Environmental and Technical Implications of Construction with Alternative Materials (ISCOWA), Soils in the South East, Contaminated Land: Applications in Real Environments (CL:AIRE) and the University of Greenwich for hosting this important and insightful event.
