Sustainability

We pride ourselves on being a sustainability-driven enterprise. Sustainability shapes our R&D choices, how we source materials, how we manufacture, and how we measure success. We work in a sector where emissions are often treated as unavoidable; we reject that assumption. Our goal is to prove that everyday construction materials can be made with radically lower embodied carbon - and in some cases with net-negative life-cycle performance - while still delivering practical, durable products that fit real projects and real supply chains. That is why we design our products and processes around verified impact: reducing emissions at source, using circular feedstocks, and enabling permanent CO2 storage through natural mineralisation.

Low-emission binder innovation

We have scaled a new room-temperature process to produce air lime (calcium hydroxide) without direct CO2 emissions from high-temperature calcination/thermal decomposition. We commit to sourcing the required chemical only from manufacturers using 100% renewable electricity. Our lab-scale process has been LCA-assessed, and we are progressing towards a full EPD for this patented production route.

Low-carbon brick manufacturing

Our bricks are not fired - they are formed by compression, avoiding kiln-firing emissions - and their main component is repurposed excavated soil from construction sites, reducing waste sent to landfill and supporting a circular approach.

Carbon-negative and circular by design

Products that include our novel lime-based binder can be carbon negative, capturing additional atmospheric CO2 through carbonation during their lifecycle . Our bricks are 100% recyclable: offcuts and demolition waste can be crushed and recompressed into new bricks, or returned to soil where appropriate and compatible with plant growth. We also aim to produce locally, sourcing raw materials near each plant and expanding production close to where we trade.
